Offshore wind
The market for offshore wind power is growing, and offshore wind is an important contribution to a renewable and climate-neutral future.
Statkraft's strategy is to take an industrial role within offshore wind in Northern Europe, especially in markets where the company is already established. Statkraft’s ambition is to develop 6-8 GW of offshore wind by 2040.
Our aim is to develop offshore wind on a competitive scale and to continue the search for new opportunities together with our partners. We will first look for opportunities in Northern Europe, focusing on Norway, Sweden, the UK and Ireland, but will not rule out investments in offshore wind in other markets in the future.
Statkraft has a long history in offshore wind having made its first investment in 2009. Our portfolio included four offshore wind projects in the UK which were later sold. These include Sheringham Shoal (317 MW), Dudgeon (402 MW), Triton Knoll (857 MW), and Dogger Bank (5000 MW).
